The HIT Like a Girl pod mission is pretty simple: to amplify and celebrate women leaders in healthcare and health IT. We advocate for and create more paths to leadership positions for girls and young women to follow.
We want women to feel supported, uplifted, recognized, appreciated, and rewarded for their professional contributions. And if we happen to fix the U.S. healthcare system while doing it, even better.
I'm a Health IT strategist and expert in value-based care, renowned for championing women in health IT and diversity, equity, and inclusion. I lead the HIT Like a Girl podcast and community, as well as Like a Girl Media agency, blending my passion for healthcare, technology, and amplifying women leaders through the art of podcasting. My work focuses on improving digital health literacy through engaging in meaningful conversations with thought leaders to drive change.
Each year, we carefully select aspiring thought leaders who are eager to explore different realms of health IT, advocacy, policy. Our platform becomes their stage, allowing them to take over and bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and engaging discussions to our dedicated audience.
Most recently, Dana Trampas and Grace Vinton (pictured right) graced us as guest hosts.
Our Guest Hosting initiative has already kickstarted the journeys of several remarkable individuals:
Connect and collaborate with fellow professionals in our exclusive Slack community for women in healthcare and health IT. Elevate your network in a space designed for meaningful exchanges and mutual empowerment.

Here’s the real story of how I started podcasting. The truth is, it was gifted to me.
Absolutely loved it and gave me so much confidence 5 star
I’m a new listener snd have been enjoying listening to past episodes. The topics are fascinating and Joy has a wonderful and authentic way of relating to her guests and bringing more (desperately needed) empathy to the health care world. Highly recommended!
